Brief Description

For the academic year 2023–2024, the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) is pleased to present the Michael Elliott Award for Excellence in African Storytelling.

English-speaking journalists who are currently employed by print, broadcast, or internet news outlets in Africa are eligible to enter this contest. For consideration, candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of journalism experience. A published paper must be submitted. The reward includes a $5,000 cash prize and additional perks.
